It keeps the classic monochrome look and the same display size as the factory screen, so games look the way you remember, only now you can play in the dark.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWith the backlight off it looks almost like a stock DMG screen. Switch the backlight on and you get 10 brightness levels and 30 contrast levels, both controlled from the original contrast wheel. Hold the wheel for 3 seconds to open the on-screen menu, which also has a battery level display.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe kit includes the LCD panel, driver board, mounting bracket, ribbon cable and two screwdrivers. No soldering is needed. Hispeedido notes that the shell needs some trimming when you buy the LCD kit on its own, so a pre-cut or IPS-ready DMG shell makes fitting easier. No shell or lens is included.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePlease bench test the screen before final assembly, and make sure the ribbon cable goes in the right way round at both ends, because reversing it can damage the driver board.
