Soldering is required to change the speaker so a soldering iron will be needed to complete the install.
You might change the speaker if you have low volume or distorted / crackling sound coming from the speaker.
keep in mind that replacing the speaker may not fix all audio problems, other common causes are a dirty volume wheel & bad capacitors, you may need to clean the volume wheel with isopropyl alcohol or replace it with a new one.
cleaning with volume wheel with isopropyl alcohol using swabs or a needle tip bottle and rotating the wheel several times may clean dirt from the internals and restore sound, so this is always worth trying first.
