The Nintendo DS family is built to travel, and a fitted carry case is one of the longest-running essential accessory categories for the lineage. ZedLabz stocks EVA hard cases, soft pouches and multi-compartment kits across DS Lite (USG-001), DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL.
Quick picks for traveling DS family owners
- Easy entry point: an EVA hard case sized to your specific model. Protects the console, charging cable and a couple of games on day-to-day travel.
- The everyday carry: EVA case plus a multi-cartridge holder for owners who carry more than three or four games at a time.
- The minimal traveller: a slim soft pouch for in-bag protection where space matters more than impact protection.
Picking the right size for your model
- Identify your model first: New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL are the largest in the lineage; 3DS and original 2DS are smaller. EVA case sizing is model-specific to give a snug fit.
- How much do you carry? Single-console cases keep bulk down. Multi-compartment kits store 4 to 8 cartridges plus a stylus, which makes sense for travel.
- Hard or soft? EVA cases protect against drops in checked luggage or backpacks. Soft pouches save bulk but rely on the surrounding bag for protection.
Worldwide delivery with tracking on every order. Message support if you need help confirming the right case sizing for a specific 3DS family variant.

3DS and DS travel bags. FAQs
What's the difference between a snap-on case and a travel case?
Snap-on cases (in our cases and covers collection) clip onto the console as a permanent shell, the unit lives inside it day-to-day. Travel cases are zip-up cases the console goes into when not in use, with extra space for a charging cable and a few games. Many owners use both: snap-on for daily protection plus a travel case when packing for a trip.
Will a 3DS travel case fit a New 3DS XL?
Not usually. The New 3DS XL is meaningfully larger than the original 3DS and a snug-fit travel case sized for the smaller model won't close cleanly around the bigger one. Order the case listed for your specific model.
Are these cases impact protective?
EVA hard travel cases use semi-rigid moulded foam designed to protect against incidental impact in a backpack or carry-on. They're not certified shock cases, so heavy drops onto a hard floor while in the case can still damage the screen, treat them as everyday travel protection rather than military-grade.
Can I store games in the case as well?
Most EVA travel cases include cartridge slots for between four and eight games plus a slot for the charging cable. Multi-game carry kits offer larger cartridge capacity. The product page lists the exact capacity per case.
