PLEASE NOTE - this is an intermediate to advanced level install, it requires skilled micro soldering, self installation is done at the purchaser's own risk. You will need to solder directly to small pin legs on IC chips found on the N64 motherboard to install this mod.

NOTE: Quick solder flex cables (QSB) are available fragile and require careful skilled soldering, it is recommended to use good quality flux and solder on these to achieve a good installation.

Description:

Add HDMI output to your N64 with this budget friendly internal mod from Hispeedido. Compatible with all models and regions except Pikachu variants.

This is a no frills solution to connect your retro console to your modern HDMI TV or monitor, shell trimming is required as well as some trimming to screw posts in certain models.

The mod outputs 720p and offers 3 aspect ratio settings plus 8 colour modes, all accessible via an OSD menu activated from the controller.

It should be noted this mod is not comparable to much more expensive kits from PixelFX or GameBox systems that offer many more settings including scaling and debur, this is offers a basic HDMI output with limited settings, some of the aspect raitos might appear stretched depending on your TV, the different aspect raitos will display differently on different TVs and a black border of varying size may be present, the console image will be smaller than the actual TV display depending on the setting chosen, the hispeedido solution does not offer the advanced scaling options of high end kits. 

The mod primarily helps to attach the Nintendo 64 to a modern TV, tapping directly into the motherboard for a digital video signal, resulting in a sharper image quality.

Technical soldering to a high degree of accuracy is required, as you will need to solder individual pin legs on IC chips found inside the console on then motherboard, it is recommended to have good experience with soldering to attempt this install. The installation of the mod is done at the owners risk, the mod does require you to trim some plastic from the housing shell so is not reversable like other kits, the trimming will remain if the mod is removed in the future.

Activate the OSD Menu by holding A+B+Start for 1 second at the same time and then release. Use directional C buttons to navigate the OSD Menu.

An alternatived wired install is possible using this mod, the included flex cable is the best install method for the strongest HDMI signal, wires not included for wired installation.
