Description:

If your game cartridge is not booting and you have already cleaned the contacts with Isopropyl alcohol, then changing the power capacitor is another option to try and revive the cartridge back to life. You may also find visible signs of the capacitor leaking, which should be replaced to avoid further damage to the PCB.

A single 22uf 6.3V SMD capacitor is found certain games, the majority with a capacitor use though hole capacitors so please open and check what type of capacitor you require.

Two surface mount capacitors are supplied, enough to repair two game cartridge PCB.

Some of the games which have been found to commonly have a leaking capacitor are Starfox / Winstar for Snes and  Kirby Superstar / Fun pak for Snes.

You will need a Gamebit secturity screwdriver to open most game cartridges (not included)

We only supply big brand aluminum electrolytic capacitors sourced from official distributors for our capacitor kits, we do not supply generic or Chinese brand capacitors. Brands we supply are normally Panasonic, Nichicon, Rubyicon, or Wurth, with Eaton used for some supercapacitors.  

Soldering iron, solder & desoldering braid required to fit capacitors, (not included).
