The controller port board PCB commonly experiences problems which causes the controllers to stop working, this kit includes the parts to both repair and upgrade the controller board. Note that this kit includes the parts to replace components that cause most of the problems relating to this board, but it is not guaranteed to fix the console, other issues may still exist.
A replacement fuse for position F1 is included in the form of a re-settable fuse, which is reset by simply turning the console off and then on again, saving the need to replace the fuse again.
Also included is a new Panasonic branded capacitor as the performance of capacitors usually deteriorate with age, by replacing the capacitor you can ensure the console is providing the correct power to controllers which should help to prevent the common problems associated with controllers on the Dreamcast.
Replacing the battery with a battery holder and ML2032 rechargable 3V battery is worthwhile whilst repairing the board, this kit includes a premium grade coin battery holder to complete the controller board upgrade. Once installed this mod allows easy replacement of the battery without further soldering.
Included 1x rechargeable Maxwell ML2032 3V coin battery cell included allowing
you to be able recharge the battery cell for many years to come. When the battery eventually no longer re-charges, the battery holder mod already done you can simply replace the ML2032 battery.
