Works great

Works great, although pushing the usb cable into the port can push the slot for the GBA cartridge up, which is scary, but hasn't exhibited real issues.

Is literally just plug and play

This works as it’s supposed to, no hassle or issue whatsoever. Plug it into a laptop with a game, and it recognises it like it’s a USB drive. It will contain the game’s Rom file and save data. It’s that straightforward. I tested it by playing the Rom on an Everdrive, with the save data, and it recognised both no problem. I’m in the process of replacing the batteries in loads of my Game Boy games, so this will be invaluable. It also contains RTC data for the Pokemon games which have a real-time clock. There are more advanced functions but I haven’t tried them yet.

I also tested this with a GB Camera plugged in, and plugged the Joey Jr directly into my iPhone 15 Pro, which has a USB-C port. The Joey Jr came up as a drive in the Files App and you could view all the photos from it. I’ll probably never use that but I found it neat nonetheless!

All in all I cannot recommend this enough if you have lots of GB/GBC/GBA carts.

Great Device

This is an amazing device. I have just received it and had it up and running in no time. Super service from ZedLabz and great community around the Benn Venn Discord to help but was straightforward once I downloaded Flash GBX. Used my iPhone USB C cable into my MacBook and all working great.

Great little device

Largely does what I need it to. I struggled with it at first as I had some issues with getting a cable to work, but once I got it to work, it connected to my PC just like a USB. Any issues that I had with the device were quickly rectified when I contacted BennVenn on Discord, and BennVenn and the other people on the Discord server were happy to help me with these issues. Updating the device was relatively simple. The instructions for this are available on BennVenn’s website. This device is also good at detecting bootlegs, as far as I can see, though you can still use the Joey Jr with them.

I recommend that you have some isopropyl alcohol to clean your games with before using this device as it will ensure that everything works correctly, and ensure that nothing is corrupted when transferring save data to and from your cartridge.

The only problem that my device continues to have is with the ability to play games straight from the cartridge on your PC. I personally find that this doesn’t work for me and that I have to dump the ROM and save data as the game either doesn’t load, or freezes within a few seconds, but this may be an issue with my PC rather than with the Joey Jr.

Either way, I am very pleased with it, and I can now reliably preserve my save files.

Joey Junior JR V2++ ... Ein großartiges Gerät! :-)

Finally being able to save years old important photos from the GB camera

I tried odering Game Boy dumping devices for a while now, but they were either not available, too expensive or my last try ended in getting messed with by the seller and the delivery service.

With this device, it finally worked out, and the device itself so far perfectly did what it's advertised for. I could easily dump the pictures from the Game Boy camera. Aside from saving photos from a deceased friend, I want to keep using this thing and having those pictures not trapped within this device.

I didn't do much else with it, but seems like you need to get used to the management of the pictures, since the device doesn't erase the photos from the camera, you still need to do this manually, and the device seems to keep previously copied photos in memory and show them to you, even though they are not there on the camera anymore. It's a little odd behaviour, but you can treat it as a backup.

So far, nothing for me to complain about, hopefully this thing will stay in working condition for many years to come.

Probably the best Gameboy dumper

This flasher is probably amongst the best for dumping GB/GBC/GBA games on the market. Super easy to set up, no faffing around with dodgy software, simply drag n drop like you would with any other USB drive. Very fast too! Excellent service provided by Zedlabz as well.

Perfect for Pokemon

This is a must have for backing up your gen 1, 2 and 3 Pokémon games! All you need to do is drag and drop your save file onto your computer to back it up. This is the same for putting the save file back onto the cart. Great for when you need to protect your save file from a dying battery. It arrived in a couple of days in really nice packaging. The protective housing on this model feels really high quality too. I'd recommend this store to anyone!

A genius piece of tech!

I purchased this a couple months ago along with Bennvenn's 8MB 128KB FRAM programmable Flash Cart MBC3 with RTC battery and with only a bit of working out and updating, I have the ability to play any gameboy game (Including fan made games!) on my original Gameboy color! This has the only real-time clock that actually works in my experience, great for Pokémon.
Can back those game saves up on my pc too.
Postage and service was Excellent!

I couldn't be happier.

I purchased this device so I could back up my ailing GB/GBC/GBA Cartridges, it worked out of the box with no need for any extra software or drivers which is exactly what I needed. Delivery of the device was swift, with tracking for its whole journey, even with the current postal issues occuring in the UK.
