FZ: Formation Z brings Jaleco's classic 1980s arcade shooter back to life in a complete modern remake, combining fast-paced shoot-'em-up action with transforming mecha combat, extensive customisation and completely updated graphics and sound.

Take control of the advanced combat machine Ixpel, with the ability to transform in real time between Robot and Flight forms.

Fight on the ground using close-range attacks and precision fire, then transform into Flight form to take to the skies and move across the battlefield at high speed.

Battle your way through five large missions, with greater freedom to explore and choose your own route through each area.

Earn FZ Points as you progress and visit The Factory to unlock additional Ixpel units, upgrades and cosmetic options.

Four module slots allow you to customise attributes including attack power, mobility and efficiency, while interchangeable parts, colours and stickers let you personalise your machine.

Once a mission has been completed, Score Attack Mode lets you return with your customised Ixpel to master enemy patterns and chase higher scores.

Extensive archives also record your combat history, defeated enemies and unlocked artwork, providing additional goals beyond completing the main missions.

Originally released by Jaleco in 1984, Formation Z was known for its unusual ability to transform between a walking robot and a spacecraft.

This new version retains that distinctive concept while substantially expanding the original with modern gameplay, new weapons, additional actions and deeper customisation.
