Gimmick! 2 Collector's Edition for Nintendo Switch | Clear River Games

Embark on a sparkling journey in this long-awaited sequel to SUNSOFT's legendary 8-bit platformer. Yumetaro is back.

Decades after his first adventure, the little green yokai sets out again through a world packed with challenges, dangerous enemies and hidden treasures. You can play in a friendlier assisted mode, or in the true-to-the-original Gimmick! mode if you want the real thing.

The star physics are what made the original famous and they remain the whole game here. Yumetaro summons and throws a star that bounces and carries the momentum of his movement, and it is used to trigger switches, defend against enemies and ridden to reach places that look impossible.

The soundtrack is a genuine event. David Wise - of Donkey Kong Country fame - has written new melodies and remade old classics, creatively directed by Pelle Cahndlerby and recorded live in Sweden with Joel Bille.

The original Gimmick! arrived on the Famicom in 1992 and was released in the West only in Scandinavia. That, combined with physics and mechanics far ahead of their time, made it both fabled and extremely expensive to own. The sequel finally gives everyone else a chance at it.

This Collector's Edition packages the Switch game with physical extras.
