ESD-safe precision tweezers in pointed, curved and blunt profiles, magnetic helping-hand PCB fixtures for hands-free soldering, demagnetiser tools for screws and bits, and screen-lens suction tools. The ZedLabz gripping range is designed to be safe around static-sensitive components in normal use, with non-magnetic stainless options for anyone working close to ribbon connectors and IPS flex cables.
Quick picks by skill level
- If it's your first console mod: the 3-piece ESD tweezer set (pointed, curved, blunt), covers most modder grip jobs from one purchase.
- The everyday build: ESD tweezer set plus a magnetic PCB helping-hand fixture for hands-free soldering of audio amps and USB-C boards.
- The dream rig: ESD tweezer set, magnetic PCB fixture, suction cup screen lens tool and a mini magnetiser/demagnetiser, the full station setup.
The gripping tool ladder
- ESD tweezer set: pointed for fine pickup, curved for tight under-board access, blunt for placing larger components without lateral pinch damage.
- Magnetic PCB helping hand: 100mm fixture base, holds the board steady while you solder both leads of a USB-C or audio amp.
- Suction cup tool: Game Boy screen lens removal and similar lens jobs.
- Magnetiser / demagnetiser: magnetise a screwdriver to lift screws out of deep wells; demagnetise the same driver before working near magnetic-sensitive components.
- Anti-static wrist strap: pair with the gripping tools for board-level work. See consumables.

Gripping tools. FAQs
What's the difference between ESD-safe and regular tweezers?
ESD-safe tweezers are designed to dissipate static charge so you reduce the risk of zapping a static-sensitive component (IPS controller boards, flash carts, audio amps) when handling it. Regular stainless tweezers can carry a static charge from your skin and discharge through the component. For most home modding, ESD-safe tweezers and a wrist strap together provide reasonable protection in normal use.
Pointed, curved or blunt, which tweezers do I need?
Pointed (straight or angled) for placing tiny SMD components and lifting fine wires; curved for working around obstacles or under board edges; blunt for handling larger components without leaving pinch marks. The 3-piece set covers most modding scenarios; if you only buy one, pointed is typically the most versatile.
Do I need a magnetic helping hand?
For soldering jobs requiring two hands plus a steady board, yes. USB-C mods, audio amp installs and battery mod soldering all benefit from a fixture holding the PCB in place while you handle iron and solder. The magnetic 100mm base accepts any ferrous PCB or metal jig, quicker setup than alligator-clip helping hands for repeat work.
What does a demagnetiser do?
It removes residual magnetism from screwdriver tips and bits. A magnetised driver helps lift screws out of deep wells (handy on GBA SP hinge work). A demagnetised driver is preferable when working near magnetic-sensitive components, magnetic sensors or hard drive parts. The mini magnetiser/demagnetiser tool does both in seconds.
