The PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite, 2007) and the PSP-3000 (2008) trimmed the original PSP down, brightened the screen and tweaked the internals. Both share most spare parts but the 2000 and 3000 differ in a few key components, particularly the LCD, where the 3000 added an interlace-prone screen with anti-reflective coating. - If your screen has lines or won't display: the LCD module is the standard fix. PSP-2000 and 3000 panels are similar but not identical, confirm the model on the back of the console before ordering.
- If the battery dies fast: Li-ion cells lose capacity over time. A fresh battery typically restores playtime to factory levels.
- If the UMD won't load: drive assemblies are stocked as a complete unit, which is generally easier than rebuilding the laser pickup.

What's the difference between PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 parts?
The shells, batteries and UMD drives are largely interchangeable between PSP-2000 and PSP-3000, but the LCD panels are different, the 3000 added video-out and a brighter anti-reflective panel. Confirm your model on the back of the unit (PSP-2000 or PSP-3000) before ordering an LCD.
Can a PSP-1000 battery fit a PSP-2000 or 3000?
No. The PSP-1000 battery is physically larger and won't fit the slim chassis. PSP-2000 and PSP-3000 share the same slim battery dimensions and you can use the same aftermarket pack across both.
How hard is a PSP slim screen replacement?
Drop-in once the shell is open, no soldering on the LCD itself. The fiddly part is the shell teardown, which uses several different screw lengths. Plan for an evening on a first install and it gets faster after one or two.
Are PSP slim parts still being made?
Sony stopped manufacturing the PSP line in 2014, but aftermarket suppliers still produce many of the wear parts. LCDs, batteries, shells, button kits, drive assemblies. New-old-stock OEM parts also occasionally surface; we list any pulled or refurbished components clearly when we stock them.
