Chat headsets and earphones for the Xbox 360 controller. The 360 controller has a proprietary 2.5mm puretalk port for chat-only audio, separate from the TV speakers, so a 360-specific chat headset is what you need, not a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. We stock wired chat headsets, replacement earphones and adapters.
Quick picks by use case
- Replacement chat headset: wired single-ear headset with boom mic. The classic Xbox 360 multiplayer setup.
- Earbud-style: in-ear chat earphones with inline mic, lighter than the boom-style headset.
- Adapter use case: if you want to use a 3.5mm gaming headset with a 360 pad, you need a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm chat adapter.

Xbox 360 headsets. FAQs
What headset works with Xbox 360?
The Xbox 360 controller uses a 2.5mm chat-only port, not a 3.5mm jack. You need either a 360-specific chat headset (wired with a 2.5mm plug) or a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter to use a standard 3.5mm headset.
Can I use an Xbox One headset on a 360?
Not directly. Xbox One pads use a 3.5mm port (newer revisions) or a proprietary expansion port. The 360 controller has a 2.5mm chat port. With an adapter you can sometimes route audio between the two, but native compatibility doesn't exist.
Why is the chat audio in only one ear?
By design, the 360's puretalk port is mono and routes chat to a single-ear headset, separate from the TV game audio. To get game audio in both ears as well, you'd typically combine the chat headset with a separate 3.5mm headphone setup, or use an adapter that mixes both feeds.
Are wireless 360 headsets still available?
The original wireless 360 chat headset is mostly out of production but still surfaces as new-old-stock or refurbished. Wired chat headsets are easier to source and tend to be more reliable on aged consoles.
