I currently have this installed on my gameboy color and it’s working well on my mod intensive handheld. It was simple to install, you only need minor soldering skills, and the best part to me was that the contact pads that weren’t needed were left out, leading to less and easier soldering.

For installing I recommend to remove the original power regulator, cause it will fits better without it

My two colours are now equipped with this. I guess you guessed, if I did it again, that means I was happy the first time 😁

Does what it needs to do. I was in doubt to solder it on one side and connect the other side with a wire because the capacitor is in the way. I ended up just using a lot of solder. I know, lol... Also my European pocket PCB didn't allow for easy cutting of the pin but I learned that that wasn't necessary so that's great.

I have a fair bit of soldering experience but I'm no expert however I can safely say if you have little to none soldering experience don't be put off by this mod because it is very easy to install and a must if you have a IPS screen modded console.
Just make sure to use thick gel flux and plenty of it because it makes this job so much easier and looks so clean one it cools
