Toaplan Arcade Garage: Kyukyoku Tiger-Heli for PlayStation 4 | Clear River Games

Kyukyoku Tiger, known in the West as Twin Cobra (1987), is one of Toaplan's most emblematic works, and this collection puts it alongside its predecessor on one PlayStation 4 disc.

The game revolves around the strategic use of your main shots and devastating bombs - a balance that held the attention of hardcore arcade-goers and commuting office workers alike. The seeds of those mechanics are visible in Tiger-Heli (1985), which is also present here.

The collection is thorough about versions. Kyukyoku Tiger appears in Japanese arcade single-player and two-player forms, as the US Twin Cobra, and in 8-bit, PC Engine and Mega Drive conversions, with Tiger-Heli in Japanese and US arcade and 8-bit versions, plus Get Star.

Arcade Challenge modes let you practise specific sections rather than restarting from the beginning every time, and a Super Easy mode makes the classics genuinely approachable.

A properly assembled piece of shoot 'em up history rather than a two-game bundle.
