Memory for PS Vita and PSP, the focused range for proprietary Sony handheld storage at ZedLabz.
Browse PS Vita and PSP storage
The PS Vita and PSP both use proprietary Sony storage, the Vita its own slim memory card (the OLED PCH-1000 and LCD PCH-2000 use the same format), the PSP the larger Memory Stick Pro Duo. Most Vita models have no internal storage, so a memory card isn't optional, without one, the console won't run. We stock Sony-format memory cards and adapters when available, including SD2Vita microSD adapters that let the Vita's game-card slot host a microSD instead.
Quick picks by handheld
- Easy entry point (Vita): a 16GB or 32GB Sony Vita memory card, enough for a basic game library on a UK Vita.
- The crowd favorite (Vita): an SD2Vita adapter plus a 64GB or 128GB microSD, converts the game-card slot into a microSD slot, far cheaper per GB than Sony's own cards. Requires homebrew on the Vita.
- The crowd favorite (PSP): a Memory Stick Pro Duo (typically 4GB to 32GB) for save data and homebrew. Generic Memory Stick Pro Duo cards work in the PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000.
The PS Vita / PSP storage ladder
- Pick the right format: Vita memory card (proprietary), Memory Stick Pro Duo (PSP), or SD2Vita adapter (Vita with homebrew).
- Match the slot: Vita memory card slot is captive on PCH-1000; PCH-2000 also has 1GB internal but the slot still takes the same Sony card.
- Format on the console: both Vita and PSP format their own cards. Don't try to format on a PC.
- Back up before reformatting: saves and licences live on the card; lose the card and you lose the saves.

PS Vita / PSP memory. FAQs
Does the PS Vita work without a memory card?
Mostly no. The OLED PCH-1000 has no internal storage, so without a memory card it won't save game progress, install titles or run most apps. The PCH-2000 has 1GB of internal storage, which is enough for a couple of small saves but fills quickly with any modern Vita title.
What is SD2Vita?
SD2Vita is a community adapter that fits in the Vita game-card slot and accepts a microSD card. With Vita homebrew (HENkaku / Enso) the system reads the microSD as if it were a Sony memory card, making large-capacity storage far cheaper. Requires a homebrewed Vita; doesn't work on stock firmware.
Can a PSP use a regular SD card?
Not directly. The PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000 all take Memory Stick Pro Duo. SD-to-Pro Duo adapters exist and work in some PSPs but are less reliable than a genuine Pro Duo card. The PSP Go has 16GB internal storage and a single Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot, not Pro Duo.
What's the largest Vita memory card?
Sony's official Vita memory card range topped out at 64GB in most regions. With an SD2Vita adapter and a homebrewed Vita, microSD capacities up to 256GB or higher are practical, depending on the adapter and the microSD card.
Why are official PS Vita cards so expensive?
Sony designed a proprietary card format with no third-party licensing. Supply has shrunk since manufacturing wound down, which has kept the per-GB cost high relative to standard memory cards. SD2Vita is the community workaround for cheaper bulk storage on a homebrewed Vita.
