3DS and DS Cases. FAQs
Will a DS Lite case fit a 3DS or 2DS?
No. The DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, original 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL all have different chassis dimensions. Each case fits one model only, the product page lists which model is supported. The original 2DS in particular is a flat slate-shaped console with a unique form factor, separate from the clamshell models.
Can I still use the buttons and stylus with a hard case on?
Yes. Polycarbonate snap-on hard cases are designed with cutouts for buttons, the cartridge slot, the stylus slot and the charging port. The unit operates normally with the case fitted, the case adds drop protection without changing how the console plays.
Do hard cases scratch the original chassis?
The polycarbonate plastic is firm but smooth on the inside surface. With normal play and removal it doesn't scratch the chassis significantly, but if dust or grit gets between the case and the console surface it can leave marks over time. Periodic removal and cleaning prevents that.
Are screen protectors easy to apply?
The film guards apply with a peel-and-stick method, similar to a smartphone screen protector. Clean the screen first, peel the backing, align with the screen edge and press down working air bubbles outward. The kit-included applicator card helps. Practise on the bottom screen first if it's your first apply.
