Description
This headphone jack mod PCB is designed for the Nintendo Game Boy Original (DMG), providing a practical repair and restoration option using a newly manufactured board and 3.5 mm connector. The PCB is intended to integrate neatly inside the console once installed, helping restore headphone output functionality on original hardware.
Installation requires soldering and careful trimming of the internal plastic shell to accommodate the PCB and jack. This product is best suited to users with experience opening consoles and working with electronics.
This board replaces the original headphone jack PCB board, the process involves desoldering the wires from the original board and soldering them to the new board in the same order. The plastic that sits around the original headphone jack on the inside rear of shell will need to be trimmed off with side cutters to accomodate this replacement (see pictures)

Q: Do I need soldering to install this mod?
Yes. Soldering of 4 wires is required to fit the PCB into the console.
Q: Do I need to modify the shell?
Yes. Internal shell trimming is required for correct fitment, a small section of plastic needs to be removed from the inside of the rear shell, this is not visible once the PCB is installed.
Q: Is this compatible with other Game Boy models?
This PCB is designed for the Game Boy Original (DMG). Other models of game boy are not compatible.
