Description: Battle Axe is a top-down hack and slash adventure that draws on arcade favourites like Gauntlet and Golden Axe. The land of Mercia has suffered for years under the sorceress Etheldred, who raids its villages for slaves, and three unlikely heroes, an elf, a wizard and a marauder, set out to reach her northern tower and end her rule.
Pixel artist Henk Nieborg created the game with Bitmap Bureau, so every character and backdrop is packed with detailed animation, and Manami Matsumae provides the music. Pick one of the three heroes and fight alone or with a friend in local co-op, collecting gold and upgrades between stages.
