Description:
Replace ageing or failed capacitors in VA0 and VA1 Sega Game Gear consoles with this comprehensive replacement capacitor set.
Original Game Gear electrolytic capacitors are now several decades old and can deteriorate or leak over time. Failed capacitors can contribute to a range of problems including poor or missing sound, power issues, display problems and unstable operation.
This set provides replacement capacitors for compatible main, power and sound boards and supports both VA0 Twin ASIC and VA1 Single ASIC Game Gear revisions.
As the set covers multiple board revisions, not every capacitor supplied will necessarily be required for every console. Identify the boards fitted to your Game Gear and install only the capacitors applicable to those board revisions.
The kit is made up of quality capacitors sourced from major component brands. Exact brands may vary between production batches depending on component availability.
Installation requires the Game Gear to be opened and the original capacitors desoldered before the replacements are fitted. A good level of soldering and electronics repair experience is recommended.

Further Information:
Please confirm the board revisions fitted to your Game Gear before ordering and installation. Board revision numbers are marked internally and require the console to be opened for identification.
Not every capacitor supplied in the set will necessarily be required for every compatible Game Gear revision.
This is a third-party repair component set and is not manufactured, sponsored or endorsed by Sega.
Notes:
The exact capacitor brands, appearance and voltage ratings supplied may vary between batches due to component availability. Capacitors will be sourced from major component brands and selected as compatible replacements for the intended application.
Capacitance (µF) values will match the required specification. Voltage ratings will be the same as or higher than the original component where appropriate; a higher voltage rating is suitable for this application and does not alter the required capacitance value.
Product images are representative and the brand, colour, size or appearance of individual capacitors supplied may differ.
Product Safety:
- Keep the product and all packaging materials away from young children.
- Contains small parts which may present a choking hazard.
- Switch off the console and remove all batteries and external power sources before disassembly or installation.
- Electrolytic capacitors are polarised and must be installed in the correct orientation.
- Incorrect component placement, polarity or soldering may damage the replacement components or console.
- Soldering irons and heated solder can cause serious burns. Use appropriate protective equipment and work in a suitable, well-ventilated area.
- Installation should only be carried out by a competent person with suitable soldering and electronics repair experience.
