Description
This laminated 2.8 inch IPS screen upgrade from Hispeedido provides a larger, sharper display for the Nintendo Game Boy Pocket while maintaining a clean, integrated installation. The laminated construction helps avoids the issues of alignment and dust during installation.
The screen includes built-in touch sensors that allow control over brightness, colour style and display modes without the need to do any soldering. Integer scaling ensures Game Boy Pocket graphics remain crisp and well proportioned, preserving the original pixel look while benefiting from modern IPS colour reproduction and wide viewing angles.
Installation is simplified thanks to the all-in-one laminated design, with the LCD panel, glass lens and ribbon cable supplied as a single unit. A compatible laminated IPS ready shell is recommended for best fit, though standard shells can be used with manual trimming. Optional solder connections can be added to enable additional OSD menu control, but soldering is not required for basic operation.
NOTE: You should bench test the screen before installation to check for any issues, this helps us to support your warranty, you should leave the adhesive backing and protective film on the product until you are satisfied it is working correctly and there are no pixel faults etc, if you discover any faults please send a picture of the bench test to support@zedlabz.com for assistance.
Power requirements: Game Boy Pocket consoles have a lower power ampage due to it running from AAA batteries, it is recommended to use Lithium AAA batteries which supply constant stable voltage or a Lipo battery mod to run an IPS screen, good quality AAA batteries can still work fine but lithium types are optimal.
