Description
Resident Evil 2 is Capcom's ground-up remake of the 1998 survival horror classic, and one of the most widely praised remakes ever made.
Built in the RE Engine, it rebuilds Raccoon City with over-the-shoulder controls and photorealistic visuals in place of the original's fixed cameras and pre-rendered backgrounds. Nothing about it feels like a port.
You play as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield in two interlocking campaigns, each seeing a different side of the outbreak as it overruns the police station.
It is a genuine horror game rather than an action one. Ammunition is scarce, inventory space is tight, and an unkillable pursuer has a habit of arriving at the worst possible moment.
A PlayStation 5 release of the definitive version.
