Description
A new chapter in the Resident Evil storyline. This eighth major instalment continues the story from the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, and survival horror has rarely been this intense.
The RE Engine paired with PlayStation 5 delivers hyper-detailed graphics, advanced immersive audio and little to no loading, bringing the shadowy village and its extremely memorable residents to life in first person.
Popular Resident Evil features return, including a merchant - The Duke - who buys and sells items, supplies crafting recipes and customises weapons. It is a deliberate nod to Resident Evil 4, and it works just as well here.
Familiar faces appear alongside new foes. Chris Redfield returns under a shroud of seemingly sinister circumstances, which is where the story begins rather than where it ends.
Theatrical, varied and genuinely frightening in places - the village, the castle and the house are each effectively a different horror game.
