Description
This is a replacement internal speaker for the Sony PS5 DualSense & DualSense Edge controllers - the small driver that sits behind the front face of the controller and plays game audio, prompt cues and confirmation sounds straight from the pad.
DualSense speakers can stop working or sound distorted when they have failed or are failing. Faults are usually solved by swapping in a new speaker, because the controller PCB and main audio codec are typically still healthy.
The speaker drops into the existing housing in the controller shell and connects using integral metal contacts on the speaker which connect to the motherboard to for an electrical connection.
If your controller plays no audio over the speaker but the headset jack still works, the speaker or its connector is almost always the culprit rather than anything on the controller PCB.

Origin & Condition
- Condition: New (Aftermarket)
- Brand-new replacement speaker designed to match the original spec and housing footprint
- Tested before dispatch
Worth it if
- Your DualSense plays distorted, crackly, or no audio over the controller speaker but the rest of the controller works
- You'd rather keep your existing controller than buy a new one for a single failed component
- You're comfortable opening the controller - no soldering is required on most revisions, but the case has to come apart
Probably not for you if
- The headset jack also has no output - that suggests the audio codec or main board, not the speaker
- You've never opened a controller before and don't want to start with one that has ribbon cables and a delicate trigger assembly
- The controller has other faults (sticks, triggers, charging) - at that point a full controller replacement may be the better call
How to Use
Once installed, the speaker functions as a like-for-like replacement. Designed to match the function of the original DualSense internal speaker. As with any third-party-supplied replacement, minor differences in tonal balance may exist compared to the original.
- No calibration required.
- Test by playing a title with in-controller audio cues (Astro's Playroom is the standard test, as it uses the speaker heavily) before reassembling fully.
- Volume is controlled via the PS5 system settings, same as any DualSense.

First-time installer tips
- Disconnect the battery JST connector before reaching deeper into the controller - protects the main board from accidental shorts
- Ribbon cables are delicate and can easily be ripped or damaged, dissasemble with care.
- Lift the speaker connector with a plastic spudger, not metal - the contacts are small and easy to bend
- Seat the new speaker fully in its housing before reconnecting; a half-seated speaker buzzes against the shell when it plays

FAQ
Q: Will this fit my PS5 controller?
A: It fits all models such as BDM-010, BDM-020, BDM-030 and BDM-040 DualSense and later DualSense Edge controllers.
Q: Do I need to solder anything?
A: No, the speaker uses a small snap-fit type fitting, with metal spring like connectors that make contact with the controller motherboard.
Q: Why has my speaker stopped working?
A: The two common causes are a torn speaker cone (gives crackly or distorted output) or age related failure. Both are usually fixed by a speaker swap because the controller PCB is typically fine.
Q: My headset works but the speaker doesn't - is that the speaker's fault?
A: Usually yes. If audio routes correctly to a wired headset, the controller's audio codec is doing its job. A dead speaker output with a working headset jack typically points to the speaker or its connections rather than the main board.
Q: How long does the install take?
A: Set aside an evening for your first install. Once you've opened a DualSense before, a speaker swap is one of the quicker repairs on the controller.
Q: Will fitting this void my Sony warranty?
A: Yes. Opening the controller voids the manufacturer's warranty. ZedLabz can't warranty Sony hardware on your behalf.

Product Safety
- Disconnect the controller battery before opening
- Small parts - keep speaker, screws and tools out of reach of children - Choking hazard!
- Use plastic tools for lifting the connector, not metal - metal across the contacts can short the controller PCB
