Description
The Shark series, created by legendary Japanese studio Toaplan, is a landmark run of shoot 'em ups. This collection brings the key entries together on one PlayStation 4 disc.
Flying Shark (1987) was received as a masterclass in simple rules and exquisitely tuned difficulty, and had an enormous influence on vertical-scrolling shooters for a decade afterwards. Its sequel Fire Shark (1989) set arcades ablaze with screen-filling weaponry and considerably more destruction.
Wardner (1987) is included alongside them, and the collection carries the regional variants properly: the Japanese, worldwide and US arcade versions of each game, plus the NES, Mega Drive and Genesis home ports.
Super Easy and Arcade Challenge modes cater for every skill level, from someone who has never finished a shooter to players chasing a one-credit clear.
Teki-Paki is included as free DLC. Essential material for anyone serious about arcade shooters.
