Xbox One controllers see heavy use across the console's long lifespan and the standard wear points are predictable: thumbstick drift, trigger return-spring fatigue, scuffed shells, broken bumper microswitches. ZedLabz stocks the controller spares to address each of those, plus internal console replacement components for board-level repair.
Quick picks for Xbox One controller repair
- The most-installed fix: replacement thumbsticks for a controller with drift or loose centering, the most common Xbox One repair we see.
- The everyday refurb: thumbstick replacement, fresh trigger return springs, replacement bumper microswitches for a heavily-played pad.
- The full rebuild: shell replacement, all-button kit, fresh sticks, charging port and battery contacts for a controller returning to daily use after time in storage.
Xbox One controller repair priorities
- Thumbstick replacement: drift is the most common Xbox One controller fault. Stick caps pull off without tools; full stick modules are soldered to the PCB and require iron work for replacement.
- Trigger and bumper repair: trigger return springs lose tension; bumper microswitches under the LB/RB buttons are common failure points on heavily-used controllers.
- Charging port replacement: micro-USB charging ports on early Xbox One controllers, USB-C on later revisions. Both wear out with repeated cable insertions; replacement requires soldering.
- Shell replacement: hard housing replacement for cracked or worn shells. Requires opening the controller with a Torx T8 security bit.
- Internal console parts: replacement components for board-level console repair work.

Xbox One spare parts. FAQs
Why do Xbox One thumbsticks drift?
The original Xbox One controller stick modules use contact-based potentiometers that wear with use. Over time the contacts develop a wear pattern and start reporting input even when the stick is centered (drift). A replacement stick module restores accurate input.
Is replacing an Xbox One thumbstick plug and play?
Stick caps (the rubber tops) pull off and push on without tools. The full stick module is soldered to the controller PCB on standard Xbox One controller revisions, so a full module swap requires desoldering and resoldering. Plan for steady iron work; not a beginner repair.
What tools do I need to open an Xbox One controller?
A T8 Torx security bit (the controller backplate uses Torx with security pins on most revisions, hidden behind the rear sticker on early models), a Phillips PH00 for internal frame screws, a plastic pry tool to separate the shell halves, and tweezers for ribbon cables. Will Xbox One spare parts fit Xbox Series X / S controllers?
Not directly. The Xbox Series X / S controller is a redesign with a new shell, a different D-pad and revised stick modules. Some internal components are similar but most spare parts are revision-specific. Order the part listed for your specific controller generation.
Can I replace just the trigger spring?
Yes, replacement trigger return springs are stocked separately. They install during a controller-open job, lift the trigger assembly out, swap the spring, reseat. No soldering needed for spring replacement alone.
